500 Lake Shore Drive, Holiday Announcements, November 2016

HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

We are very excited to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository this holiday season with a Holiday Food Drive. Donation bins are located in the lobby to place your non-perishable items in or make a direct contribution through 500 Lake Shore Drive‘s food bank or by clicking here. We appreciate your generosity and participation!

WHILE YOU ARE AWAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS

If you plan on traveling during the holiday season, please ensure all windows are completely closed and locked.

It is important to update emergency contact information at the concierge desk, which allows us to reach you by email address or by phone where you will be staying. The concierge can also update your access preferences to allow staff, vendors, or guests access to your home while you are away.

Be sure to cancel your newspaper delivery and arrange for your mail to be held by the post office.

Make sure all small appliances except the refrigerator are turned off and unplugged.

Heat must be left on in the unit to prevent pipes from potentially freezing and/or breaking (minimum setting should be 60 degrees).

HOLIDAY DECOR

We have received a number of inquiries if real Christmas trees are being allowed at 500 Lake Shore Drive and the answer is yes. Please be reminded that door decorations such as wreaths and hallway door mats are considered a fire hazard and not permitted to be displayed on the exterior of apartment doors.

AMENITIES AND SERVICES

OUTDOOR AMENITIES

In preparation for the winter season, along with the inclement weather and high winds we experience during Chicago winters, the furniture cushions and cabana curtains have been removed. The deck, fire pit, and grilling areas will still remain accessible for as long as possible, and as the weather conditions allow.

BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY PARTY AT 500 LAKE SHORE DRIVE

There are still plenty of times available to rent out one of the 500 Lake Shore Drive party spaces this holiday season. These are available for private rental and include The Feature and The Event. Please contact 500LakeShoreDriveRSS@Related.com, for availability and reservation information.

GUEST SUITES

500 Lake Shore Drive offers three fully furnished guest suites for nightly stays. Each suite is fully furnished with housewares and linens. Residents can reserve these by contacting 500LakeShoreDriveRSS@Related.com for availability and reservation information.

PACKAGES AND DELIVERIES

In anticipation of increased packages and deliveries during the holidays, we wanted to share a few reminders regarding packages and deliveries.

Did you know that instead of waiting at the concierge desk, packages can be picked up at The Valet, Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.? Packages can also be picked up after hours at the concierge desk. Always check the package display screen in the mail room for package delivery status and location. You can also log on to Resident Circle to update your preferences, receive email notifications for package deliveries, and enroll in In-Home Delivery.

If you are planning on receiving a large delivery, such as furniture or a rug, please coordinate the delivery with the concierge. Deliveries can be accommodated during daytime hours: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., 7 days per week. If you are unable to be home to accept a delivery, please leave authorization with the concierge desk and your delivery person will be escorted to your apartment.

When you can’t make it home in time for delivery that requires immediate attention, 500 Lake Shore Drive can help! Our In-Home Package Delivery service offers the option of having grocery orders and other perishable goods, dry cleaning, and special packages placed directly in your home. In-Home Package Delivery takes place once a day and twice a day during the holiday season. To receive our In-Home Package Delivery service, please set contact Denise Hunter at 500LakeShoreDriveRSS@Related.com.

Please remember to break down boxes and properly recycle/dispose of non-recyclable items, especially during this heavy parcel receiving time.

HOLIDAY/CHRISTMAS GRATUITIES

We have received interest from many of you regarding how you may show your gratitude to employees during the holiday season. A list of employees who work in the building is available at the concierge desk during the holiday season. Related Management would like to assure you that our employees are appropriately compensated for the services they provide to our residents. However, if there are specific employees whom you feel have provided services above and beyond your expectations, and you feel a gratuity is deserved, you may feel free to provide such on a voluntary basis to either the individual employee or to an employee fund. For your convenience, there will be a secure safe located at the concierge desk for gratuities that will be distributed among the staff. Should you prefer to provide a gratuity for a specific employee, please indicate whom it is intended for in a marked envelope. Any gratuities received in unmarked envelopes will be contributed to an employee fund and equally distributed among the staff. Please note that we have no means of cashing personal checks on behalf of employees.

STORAGE LOCKERS

As a reminder to residents utilizing the storage lockers, all items must be stored in your assigned locker. Any items that are not properly stored within a registered and secured locker as of Wednesday, November 30th, will be considered abandoned and disposed of accordingly. Locks have been placed on all unregistered storage lockers. Please ensure your items are properly stored and secured in your assigned locker before this date. If you have any questions regarding storage or need to register your storage locker, please contact 500LakeShoreDriveRSS@Related.com or 312.283.2104.

Whenever you come to Chicago, ensure you stay at Ryan Corporate Housing.

Have a wonderful holiday season!
