Happy New Year!
Hope you are all getting back into the swing of things after a restful and festive season. Some folks have gone on exotic vacations to warm destinations while others have caught up with their friends and family. Regardless of what you’ve done or where you’ve been, let’s hope that everyone is already making new year resolutions that will bring them positive health, wealth, and happiness.
At Ryan Corporate Housing, we are always excited about the events happening in and around Chicago. There are still a few more days to have the opportunity to see or experience any remaining winter activities.
Here are a few things that are still available to do before 7th January. See what catches your fancy and make sure you don’t miss out.
Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo
Head to the Lincoln Park Zoo to see the lights (and maybe a few animals) at this annual winter tradition. The first 1,000 people through the gates each night receive special glasses to view the lights with, but everyone can enjoy nightly ice carving demonstrations and hot beverages.
Winter Wonder Fest at Navy Pier
Navy Pier‘s annual indoor winter carnival returns with activities that include a toboggan tunnel, winter mini golf, and a 15-foot “snow tubing” hill. Returning attractions include the Blackhawks ice-skating rink and various carnival rides. Bring your family for a nice and toasty winter wonderland. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink is open to the public for skating with one of the best views of the downtown skyline. Experience one of the city’s finest winter traditions to March 4. Check the website for daily hours of operation. Admission is free with free skating lessons Friday through Sunday one hour before the rink opens.
Christmas Around the World at the Museum of Science and Industry
View more than 50 trees and displays at the Museum of Science and Industry’s annual “Christmas Around the World” exhibit. Volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities, representing their diverse cultures and holiday customs, decorate each tree. A mix of holiday music will play as “snow” falls every half an hour. This year’s celebration is inspired by MSI’s current exhibit Robot Revolution featuring more than 40 interactive robots from all over the world.
